The authentication middleware in the affected component unconditionally skips authentication when a request includes an `Upgrade: websocket` header. An unauthenticated attacker can exploit this by sending a specially crafted HTTP POST request to the `\/federated` endpoint with the `Upgrade: websocket` header.
