The error path then drops the device<br \/>\nreference, which releases the partially initialized simulator.<\/p>\n<p>vdpasim_free() unconditionally passes the worker pointer to<br \/>\nkthread_destroy_worker(), so the ERR_PTR is dereferenced and can trigger<br \/>\na general protection fault.<\/p>\n<p>Store the worker error, clear the pointer, and only clean up the worker<br \/>\nwhen it was successfully initialized.
