{"id":24539,"date":"2026-09-16T20:32:27","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T12:32:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.54iter.cn\/?vuln=cve-2026-89852"},"modified":"2026-09-16T20:32:27","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T12:32:27","slug":"cve-2026-89852","status":"publish","type":"vuln","link":"https:\/\/www.54iter.cn\/?vuln=cve-2026-89852","title":{"rendered":"CVE-2026-89852 &#8211; In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nscsi: qla2xxx: Zero m"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:<\/p>\n<p>scsi: qla2xxx: Zero mailbox struct in qla2x00_get_firmware_state()<\/p>\n<p>The mbx_cmd_t is allocated on the stack but left uninitialized.<br \/>\nqla2x00_mailbox_command() has several early-return paths (PCI permanent<br \/>\nfailure, device failed, EEH busy, ISP abort pending, mailbox access<br \/>\ntimeout, purge mbox) that return without writing the input mailbox<br \/>\nregisters back into mcp-&gt;mb[]. qla2x00_get_firmware_state() then<br \/>\nunconditionally copies mcp-&gt;mb[1..6] (and mb[12]) into the caller&#8217;s<br \/>\nstates[] array regardless of the return value.<\/p>\n<p>On such a failure the copied values are uninitialized kernel stack<br \/>\nmemory, which is then exposed to userspace via the fw_state and<br \/>\nmpi_fw_state sysfs handlers.
